Our Café
Step into our cafe and you step back in time to a more gentle age where the cakes were home-baked and a warm fire crackled in the grate.
We’re open every day serving breakfasts, lunches, tasty treats and snacks, and hot and cold beverages. We’ve been told that our coffee is “some of the best around”, our bacon baps are “perfect” and our homemade cakes “delicious”. We love a compliment.
We also love our guests and like to make them feel at home. Just beware of getting too comfy and missing your train.
We offer: free wi-fi, wood burning stove and squishy purple sofas to warm and soothe the tired traveller, book exchange – bring one in to swap or leave a donation in the jar, books and toys on hand to entertain our younger clientele, communal bike lock for our visiting cycling enthusiasts, dog treats and water bowl for our canine compadres.
Food For Thought
We use local, Fairtrade and ethically produced ingredients wherever possible, including free-range meats, local breads and juices, organic coffee and Fairtrade teas.
A Social Enterprise
The Café is a Social Firm- a business that exists to create employment opportunities for people who experience high levels of unemployment and social exclusion. Did you know? People with learning disabilities are more likely to be out of work than people with physical disabilities, regardless of their willingness to work.
Community Space
We welcome local community groups and businesses who want to use the cafe as a meeting place.
If you’d like to host an event at the cafe, be it a coffee morning or a walking, craft or book group, please get in touch. We’d be delighted to help.
