3 Ways David Fincher's Spider-Man Movie Would Have Been Amazing

In the past 13 years, audiences have gotten five Spider-Man movies that took place in two different continuities. The first three the Sam Raimi films starring Tobey Maguire, and the last two the Marc Webb films starring Andrew Garfield. Both series have different tones (though perhaps not as different as some fans may want), so there’s a lot of room for comparing how they handled certain events, made certain villains, represented the protagonist, etc. Of course, it’s also fun to speculate on what might have been, and had things gone when either of the two series were being planned, we might have seen a much different Spider-Man swinging across the silver screen.

Eddie Redmayne Demonstrate His Terribly Awkward Hobbit Audition

Eddie Redmayne has been gaining serious traction lately with his incredible performances in films such as Les Miserables and most recently The Theory of Everything. So it’s no surprise that the young British actor has been considered for other big time roles. While on The Graham Norton Show Redmayne revealed his interest in a few hit films including The Hobbit, which he actually auditioned for.
Redmayne. You do so many things right. But apparently playing a hobbit just isn’t one of them. At least he looks adorable doing so. And even as he clenches up and creepily says the line, "my name is Bilbo Baggins", it’s still so endearing. It’s terrible, but endearing nonetheless.

Iron Man 4 Could Feature This Actor As The Title Superhero

Remember Harley Keener from Iron Man 3? The adorable rapscallion from rural Tennessee who helped Tony Stark track down the Mandarin? Well, there is heavy rumor doing the rounds that he could be in line to replace Robert Downey Jr. as the titular superhero in a potential fourth installment to the Iron Man franchise. Crazy, right? The name of the thespian in question is 13-year-old Ty Simpkins, who has had a rather impressive start to his burgeoning acting career. According to Movie Pilot, who got their information from the ingeniously named website Bam Smack Pow, Ty Simpkins will make his debut as the character in 2019’s Iron Man 4. If this rumor is actually true, then the blockbuster would come out hot on the heels of Avengers: Infinity War Part 2.

Wait, The District 9 Director Was Working On An Alien Film With Sigourney Weaver?

Neill Blomkamp has revealed that he has been working on a new Alien film with his Chappie star Sigourney Weaver, who, of course, shot to fame as Ripley in the beloved sci-fi franchise. It looks as though the District 9 director worked on the concept art in an unofficial capacity, but that doesn’t stop them from being truly amazing. Pretty sweet, right?
Neill Blomkamp also took to Twitter (on an unverified account, keep in mind) to confirm 20th Century Fox "didn’t really even know I was working on it." Hopefully those in control over at the studio will now see the South African filmmaker’s work and then decide to call him up and give him an official whack at another installment to the franchise. I know that’s almost certainly not going to happen, but a boy can dream!
