Environmental Issue: Pollution
We are living in an age of pollution. Everything around us is polluted. The air we breathe in, the food we eat, the water we drink all are polluted. |

Environmental Pollution has posed a serious threat not only to man but also to all living beings. Poverty and need are the worst polluters of environment. In olden times man’s needs were limited. The increase in population and fast development of cities has led to environmental pollution. Thus increase population and fast industrialization pose a serious threat to the environmental pollution. Man is an essential part of highly complex web or living organisms called biosphere. Any damage done to any part of the biosphere affects man. The Pollution of environment is, to much extent, caused by soil, water and air pollution. About 70 percent of the earth’s surface is covered by water. Water pollution is very harmful for all living beings. So is the air we breathe in. If air is polluted people will fall ill. In consequence water and air pollution cause a serious menace to ill living beings. Water is polluted by industrial waste, grease, oils, toxic compounds and several poisonous substances. |

This is the worst danger that man faces today. The Increasing use of synthetic detergents has contaminated water supplies. Thus environmental pollution has endangered the very existence of all life forms including man. Not only do we as humans pollute our environment involuntary, but a lot of times people will litter just because they are too lazy to throw their trash away. How many times do you see trash thrown on the streets somewhere whenever you are travelling? Impossible to count how many times because they are so numerous. Littering not only hurts our environment, but it harms everything living inside of that environment. Animals who are looking for a bite to eat accidentally chew on the trash that we leave on the ground and choke to death. The ocean gets polluted all the time and people seem to care less. Yet, when we destroy the sea creatures and their ecosystem, we end up hurting ourselves as well. There may not be enough fish for us to eat in years to come. Who knows the extent of the damages we have done to our environment? The only way we can reverse the process is if we start now. |
